We set up an appointment for him to come out and take a look at what we wanted to do and take pictures and measurements. He even made some nice suggestions too. We then set up the date for his crew to come out and start working. We did end up having to reschedule our start date due to some heavy rain over a weekend that got them behind on another customer, but he got right back on schedule a couple days later. His crew was out for 5 hours a day for 2 days. We are absolutely thrilled to have water access in our front yard now ... I don't know how we ever did without that! The sodding in the front looks so very neat and has improved the looks of the front yard tremendously. Our back yard looks amazing! We were so use to seeing dirt or mud back in the grassy area all the time, and now it is just beautiful with the ground cover and boulders. My husband is ecstatic with our pool equipment area. He was the one that always had to pull all the weeds and try to keep all that under control back there. It is now neat as a pin, and we love the way they buried our stepping stones to be flush with the gravel. I can't tell you how many times I tripped off the edges of those pavers the way we use to have them. John's crew were very hard working and very skilled at what they do. "Purchased a Big Deal for some much needed flower bed clean out and other minor yard stuff. Before I tell my story, let me say I am VERY happy with the result:-) The greatest challenge was the scheduling. I scheduled immediately after my purchase and did not receive my confirmaiton email. I called the next week & DJ got me on the schedule. There was an issue in that there was a problem with another job that caused there to be no crew availalbe for my work on the scheduled day. My issue was not with this, my issue was that no one called to let me know why there was no crew at my house. I called customer service on Friday, my scheduled day, (before Labor day weekend) at 4:45 PM (after leaving a message for DJ) to ask that someone give me a call. To my pleasant surprise, John (I assume the owner) called at 5:10 PM. He was pleasant, explained what had happened, apologetic and absolutly made the situation right. A crew was at my home the following morning and was willing to stay beyond the agreed upon amount of time I had paid for to make up for my inconvenience. The crew was awesome. Two guys that executed my every direction as well as applying thier expertise to make my yard look fabulous. Multiple neighbors commented immediatly how fantastic the yard looked. My next door neighbor has scheduled service with them as well. I have to say that John took a potenial negative situation and turned it around for a positive experience and outcome. I highly recommend Wilson Landscape Design for the services listed in this review.At first, the communications was a bit slow and delayed, however after talking with DJ I understand that they are (at times) overwhelmed with emails and phone calls for their services. After seeing the quality of the work the crew performed, I see why everyone wants to use Wilson Landscape Design. Once work started things went very smoothly with only a few day delay due to the crew leader's wife having a baby girl but the crew quickly returned to provide execellent service. I had been investigating what materials, construction techiques, do's and don't when doing this type of projects for many years as I had grown up in a commercial/residential construction family as a child. Eventhough my career path took a different turn than construction into Engineering, what I knew was how the work at my house should be performed. I am very happy to say the work performed was performed to the highest standards. Several tasks at my house were done beyond my expectionations. Several smaller detail tasks were performed that were not necessarly spelled out clearly on the estimate with professionalism. During the project, the yard took a beating from the amount of walking and the 4 pallets of pavestone bricks that arrived. However, the crew cleaned up their work at the end of each day, picked up tools and mad the yard as presentable as possible. Trash and debris was picked up and hauled away promptly. After the project was completed, the crew took extra care in cleaning up the yard and the street where the pile of base materials, sand, and other construction materials were used. The yard was cleaned up and the patio was hosed off and looking fantastic. With the new sod that was put down, some of the sod looked 'dead' but Wilson Landscape Design said to water the grass (by hand) twice a day. In no time the grass was growing like crazy. Even the portions I thought were dead are growing with new growth. For the next several days after the project was completed, I received several complements from neighbors and friends on the additions and changes to the house."

"i bought the big deal coupon for 6 hours of lawn work at my home. I called John Wilson about 3 weeks before this date and told him the approximate time frame i wanted to have the work done and he scheduled me for the exact date i wanted. He wanted to go by and look at the front of the house and then would make recommendations. I talked to him about 2 weeks later and he made some recommendations for where to buy flowers for the yard that would work best and suggested a certain type of mulch to use. 3 men came out and worked for 2 hours each. They mowed the entire yard, planted 2 flats of flowers and also flowers in the two flowerpots i had, trimmed the trees and all of the bushes. Moved some rocks around at my request. Put the rocks that were lining my tree back upright. They also weeded the front beds and then mulched all of it. John did call me while the work was being done to tell me that i would need to get more mulch for the front yard to make it thicker. i told him to spread out what he had on the front and then i would by more mulch at a later time. He advised that the guys were going to concentrate on getting the front yard looking good since i am planning on putting the house up for sale. It WENT Great! It looks so nice compared to what it used to be. The flowers are pretty too. Please see above my story.."

"I contacted John (the owner) after I had paid for the service through Angie's List - great deal offer. It took a couple of days for John to return my call and we missed each other's calls a couple of times after that, but eventually we connected and selected a day to do the work. Unfortunately, my "Monday" was the next Monday and he thought it was the following "Monday". I had to cancel an appointment because I was waiting for the workers to come, but they never did. I called John several times, with no reply. Late in the day his foreman, DJ did call and said there was a mix up on the day....and gave me his card when he came by to look at the job later on so I would have another POC instead of just the owner's number...DJ was great to work with. Long story - short, when they guys did get there on the date we agreed on, they did a wonderful job. They worked diligently, but didn't speak much English. Make sure you tell the foreman exactly what you want done, because unless you speak Spanish it won't be understood. They worked really hard and did exactly what I asked for - they cleaned up the area when they left and I would definitely use this service again....as a matter of fact, they actually got a new customer - I hired Wilson's to do my routine lawn service!!"

They spent several hours explaining options, answering questions, and making suggestions. "I can not say ENOUGH about Wilson Landscape Design. Where do I begin??? I have had a deck issue with water literally POOLING on my deck for over two years causing nothing but stress for my family. Literally, the announcement of rain on the local news and my stress level would elevate!! Water would begin to pool around my deck drains (three) in two inch increments! I was worried it would begin to seep into the house. I had three separate companies come and give estimates. These three separate companies informed me that I would need to completely take out ALL of my decking to correct the piping issue underneath. Granted, I have CONCRETE decking inlayed with a stone decorative onlay. The cost to do this amounted to the tune of $15,000 to $20,000 dollars!!! This was not something I was prepared to undertake. So, my last bid was with Wilson Landscape and Design. At this point I thought what the heck...let me see what they have to say..What can I lose??? So, John Wilson arrives and performed a detailed inspection. He took his time . He ran the water hose in all of the drains. He noticed that all of the piping faced south to the deck. All of the piping was directed toward the side yard. Therefore, there was NOT an issue UNDER the concrete decking as I was previously told. Needless to say, I was still skeptical. He seemed to know what he was talking about. I checked the direction of the drains myself and I thought this man was making sense! I received his bid and it seemed very reasonable. So, I scheduled his company to come and start the repairs. He, and a crew of four, arrived as promised and began to investigate the pipe problem. After one hour, they found the pvc pipe TO NOWHERE....they found a water pipe that stopped in the back yard that didn't drain anywhere!!!! Obviously the drain company years previous did a negligent job. I don't know how they could morally live with themselves!!! This pipe ended in DIRT, water could not go anywhere!!! So, therefore, it backed up and pooled around my house! John added a trench and another six foot of pipe and extended to the golf course CORRECTLY. As this should have been done years prior. The rains came the following day and GUESS WHAT....NO WATER POOLS!!!!! This company knows what they are doing and are fair in pricing! It was actually less than what I expected. And on the way out, John was making suggestions on helpful landscaping ideas! An extremely pleased customer"
